Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3  Our Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification (EFAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that there is no requirement for a fully trained first aider for their workplace.

Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification – EFAW

All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2017 and meets the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes.  All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements ProTrainings Vocational Training Qualifications (VTQ) are fully recognised by the HSE as Trade Body Qualification

This course  certificate is valid for 3 years. To save you time you now have the option to complete your Emergency First Aid at Work course as a blended course, with 3 hours of online training followed by 3 hours in the classroom. Our blended training allows you to learn the theory at your pace, one to one with your instructor at a time that suits you.

Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) – EFAW Curriculum Includes:

Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider

Identify how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others  – Identify the need for consent to provide first aid

Be able to assess an incident – Conduct a scene survey – Conduct a primary survey of a casualty – Summon appropriate assistance when necessary

Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty

Identify when to administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)  – Demonstrate CPR using a manikin  – Justify when to place a casualty into the recovery position – Demonstrate how to place a casualty into the recovery position – Identify how to administer first aid to a casualty who is experiencing a seizure

Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking  – Identify when choking is: – mild – severe  – Demonstrate how to administer first aid to a casualty who is choking

Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding – Identify the severity of external bleeding  – Demonstrate control of external bleeding

Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock – Recognise a casualty who is suffering from shock   – Identify how to administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries – Identify how to administer first aid to a casualty with: – small cuts – grazes – bruises – small splinters –  Identify how to administer first aid to a casualty with minor burns and scalds

Prices start from £35.00 per person (based on a group 12 people from the same company being taught together in house)

Course Pre-requisites – In order to provide a professional quality learning experience carrying out hands-on practical training is required to ensure that all attendees leave feeling confident to use their newly gained first aid skills in a real life situation.

So therefore it is important that all participants are physically able to perform the relevant “hands “practical techniques included in the training course.
